Gratitude
Gratitude
Several years ago I started a gratitude journal.
It wasn’t anything crazy - simply a way to document 1 thing everyday that I was grateful for. It seemed simple enough. It only required 10 seconds to write 2-10 words that would remind me of something that I probably take for granted, but should not.
With any luck, the investment of a few seconds would help me focus more on the great things that I am fortunate to have and less on the things that I am still working to achieve.
To honor the Thanksgiving holiday, I recently reviewed my gratitude journal and found several recurring themes. This week’s newsletter seemed like a good opportunity to share those themes for which I am repeatedly grateful.
my health
getting help and support from others
meaningful work
grinding through hard things
time in nature
making progress
running and walking
opportunities to be useful
aligned teammates who work hard
rest, relaxation and sleep
challenges to overcome
time with family and friends
beauty that exists in the world
exciting and memorable experiences
If you’re reading this, it means that I’m also grateful for you. Not only for taking a few minutes to open this email on a holiday, but also for the work that you do for your community, which makes our work at Run The Day possible.
Wishing you a great thanksgiving!
