$65 billion

“Is AI real?”

I hear it all the time.

Everywhere you look there’s talk of AI this and AI that.

Recently, AI giant Anthropic announced that it’s annual run-rate revenue has exceeded $65 billion, and it plans to go public at a $2 trillion valuation as early as October (finance nerds like me can read more about it here).

A $2 trillion valuation would make it the 7th largest company in the world — not bad for a 5-year-old company.

What’s crazy to me is that they’ve reportedly grown from $1 billion in annualized revenue to $65 billion in annualized revenue in 20 months.

Whether they can keep up the growth trajectory remains to be seen. Whether the public markets value them at $2 trillion remains to be seen. And whether a 5-year-old AI giant can build an enduring company remains to be seen.

But one thing is for sure — AI is here to stay.

If you don’t believe me, just look at NVIDIA, currently valued at over $5 trillion making it the world’s most valuable company.

So if you’re using phones and computers without AI, you’re probably wasting time.
