Slingshot

You might have noticed that my Instagram profile is getting a glow-up.

Maybe you’re thinking, “Ian has become a dancer and is finally ready to show off his moves!”

If that’s what you’re thinking then I have bad news. I’m still a bad dancer.

The good news? I expect my glow-up to be more useful than shimmying on Instagram.

Why?

The #1 request I hear from races is “how can we get more people at our event?”

At Run The Day, we’re constantly leveraging our brand and distribution channels to increase awareness for the races we work with. We do this in quite a few ways, but with a wider reach that’s accompanied with a human face, I believe we could do it better.

If done correctly, it would be what I call a rare triple win.

  • Win for the race

  • Win for Run The Day

  • Win for the runner (who gets many benefits, but most notably, they get to feel better after finishing the race)

If people don’t know about your 5K, they can’t sign up.

Growing my social media presence is meant to increase awareness for 5Ks, so that races grow faster, without spending more money.

I call it the Run The Day slingshot.

And maybe I’ll become a good dancer in the process — but don’t hold your breath.
