“Alone, we can do so little; together, we can do so much.”
- Helen Keller
We all know that feeling when we are surrounded by ‘our people.’ They make us feel like the most natural versions of ourselves and just get who we are.
As humans, we crave that feeling. We crave it for a good reason. Throughout most of humanity, it was impossible to stay alive without a community. Naturally, we evolved to seek community and get along with others.
These days, we spend so much time staring at screens that it is easy to forget about our communities. Community events offer us a reminder and create an opportunity for us to come together. A well executed event creates bonds, forms connections and builds a stronger community.
This year, lots of attention will be given to the Summer Olympics and US Presidential Election. Less media coverage will be given to the millions of community events taking place. Despite receiving less attention, the collective impact of community events will exceed the impact created by the global events receiving all the media coverage.
That’s why Run The Day is focused on supporting community events. We believe that providing community leaders with a simplified approach to organizing race events will produce a better future with stronger communities.
