Thankful for YOU
It’s been 129 years since the first Turkey Trot in Buffalo. On Thanksgiving 1896, six runners got together and finished the race. It was one year before the first Boston Marathon. If you’re curious, you can read a short history of races here.
Today, more than 1 million Americans are running Turkey Trots. I’m a math nerd, so of course I annualized the growth rate over those 129 years — it’s almost exactly 10%.
If that trend continues, by 2050 more than 11 million Americans will be running Turkey Trots on Thanksgiving morning.
If you’re reading this, it means that you’ve helped fuel the growth of Turkey Trots and running in general. So thank you! I am grateful for you.
Have a great Thanksgiving!
