The easy button

20 years ago I loved watching Staples commercials. Not because I cared about office supplies, but because I was obsessed with the idea of the Easy Button.

In those ads, anything could be solved with the push of a button. Like this commercial when one Easy Button found another Easy Button. And this video when an Easy Button helped to answer a hard math problem, change diapers and assist with complex surgery. Ridiculous? Sure. But very memorable.

The Staples Easy Button

20 Years Later

Staples just celebrated the Easy Button’s 20th anniversary. Their US retail president, Marshall Warkentin put it well when he said, “The Easy Button stood for more than convenience. It represented how Staples took the stress out of getting things done.”

That is exactly what we aim to do at Run The Day.

By removing the stress from of hosting a 5k, we hope to play a small part in building a future with more races. That way, we can all be heathier and more united.

Thank you for the inspiration, Staples.

Fresh website

Substance still matters most. But our homepage was starting to feel a bit stale. So we repainted our digital front door.

It looks better. It loads faster. And it’s optimized for LLMs too—not just humans.

Looking back at last year’s Philly 10k
