Why Run The Day "Runs"

When people used to ask me what my company did, I would share our mission - to unite athletes and strengthen communities. And if you can move, you’re an athlete.

I often received a confused look—sometimes even questions about whether I was leading a religion or a cult. So I evolved my answer to describe us more plainly: we make it easy to organize a 5K race by providing both registration technology and timing services.

While it more clearly explains what Run The Day does, it doesn’t make why we do it (to unite athletes and strengthening communities) any less important.

We’re all athletes who crave community. I know this because our hunter gatherer ancestors would not have survived if they didn’t move their bodies and get along with others in the tribe. Just because our survival no longer depends on daily physical activity and direct involvement with our community (thank you Police, Military, DoorDash and Amazon!) doesn’t mean that we are no longer athletes who crave community. In fact, the COVID pandemic made it clear that we are still athletes who crave community.

When we unite, we become stronger and more capable as a species and our individual lives become richer and more meaningful.

Run The Day’s mission is simple. Unite athletes and strengthen communities. By doing this, we work to make our lives healthier, so that we can all positively impact the future.

Thank you for supporting us on our mission.

To relax, some listen to Beethoven. I prefer watching this 15 second video on repeat :)
